Itinerary

DAY 2, Mon. ATHENS: Upon arrival at the Athens International Airport, you will be transferred directly to your Athens City Hotel. Enjoy an evening at leisure. Athens overnight. 

DAY 3, Tues. ATHENS / OLYMPIA: You will commence your 4 Day Classical Tour. From Athens, you will drive to the Corinth Canal for a quick photo stop prior to arriving at ancient Corinth where at biblical times St. Paul preached to the Corinthians. Corinth was an important city in Greek, Hellenistic, and Roman times. Its geographical location, role as a center of trade, naval fleet, participation in various Greek wars, and status as a major Roman colony meant the city was, for over a millennium . Continue to Mycenae, at its peak, Mycenae was one of the most important Ancient Greek cities and is linked to several works of cultural significance, including the Odyssey and the Iliad. Today, Mycenae contains several well-preserved sites, including the Lion’s Gate and the North Gate, which form parts of its fortified walls and which once stood 18 meters high and 6 to 8 meters thick. Mycenae flourished into a fortified city and as ruled at one time by the famous King Agamemnon. Continue to Olympia for dinner and overnight. (B, D)            

DAY 4, Wed. OLYMPIA / DELPHI: After breakfast, you will meet up with your guide and continue your 4 Day Classical Tour with a visit to the archaeological site of Olympia marveling at the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic Flame, the Stadium and the museum. After lunch, at your own expense, enjoy a scenic drive via Patra, then along the coastal road passing the city of Nafpaktos before arriving in Delphi. Dinner and Overnight Accommodation in Delphi.  (B,D)  

DAY 5, Thurs. DELPHI / KALAMBAKA: After breakfast, you will enjoy a full morning exploring the impressive archaeological site of Delphi, once considered the center of the earth and universe, today famous for its theatre, Temple of Apollo and ancient ruins. You will also visit the Museum. After lunch, at your own expense, your tour will take you further north, arriving at Kalambaka. Dinner and Overnight Accommodation at Kalambaka. (B)  

DAY 6, Fri. METEORA / ATHENS: After breakfast you will depart your hotel and arrive at Meteora for the highlight of your tour. Marvel at these amazing Byzantine Monasteries perched on top of the cliffs. Your morning will be spent visiting two of the monasteries, which were once used as retreats for the monks. Marvel at their breathtaking views of the surrounding plains. After lunch, on your own expense, you will slowly make your way back to Athens, with a short photo stop at Thermopylae to view the   heroic monument of Leonidas & the 300 Spartans. Return to Athens for your overnight accommodation in Athens. (B) 

DAY 7, Sat. ATHENS: After breakfast, you will commence your Athens Sightseeing Tour which will give you an overall view of Athens and its monuments with the highlight of the tour being a visit to the world-famous ancient Acropolis. Afterwards, you will be taken back to your hotel where you will have the afternoon and evening free to wander around this magnificent city on your own. Athens Overnight. (B) 

DAY 8, Sun. ATHENS / USA: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At the arranged time, depending on your departure flight, you will be transferred directly to the Athens International Airport for your flight home. Kalo taxidi. (B)
