TOUR DESCRIPTION
This tour starts with a short stop at Panathinaiko Stadium where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. Continue with a panoramic drive passing by the Ex Royal Palace, Zappion Hall, Roman Temple of Zeus, National Gardens, Hadrian`s Arch, St Paul`s Church, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Schliemann`s House, the Catholic Cathedral, Academy, University and National Library. Make your way to the archaeological site of the Acropolis, an UNESCO world heritage monument and visit Propylae, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion with its porch of Maidens and of course the Parthenon. Continue with a short pleasant walk passing by Herodion and Dionysus Theatre, in order to visit the Acropolis Museum. Main attractions to be seen are votives, artifacts of every day life, Caryatides and of course the Parthenon Hall with the metopes, the pediments and the frieze will impress you.
