Itinerary

DAY 1, SUN – USA /ATHENS: Overnight flight to Athens, Greece. Airfare not included.  

DAY 2, MON - ATHENS: Upon arrival at the Athens International Airport, you will be transferred directly to your Athens Hotel. Enjoy an evening at leisure Overnight Accommodations in Athens.  Royal Olympic Hotel 5*

DAY 3, TUE - ATHENS: After breakfast, you will commence your guided Half Day Athens Sightseeing Tour which will give you an overall view of Athens and its monuments with the highlight of the tour being a visit to the world-famous ancient Acropolis and its museum. Late afternoon we continue with a wonderful drive along the Athenian Riviera. During this relaxing ride you’ll enjoy splendid views of the Saronic Gulf while passing through some of Athens’ most beautiful suburbs.  Arriving at Cape Sounion you will visit the 5th century B.C. Temple of Poseidon with its magnificent panoramic view of the Aegean Sea. Tonight, we will enjoy dinner at Vlaxika restaurant in Vari with authentic skewered lamb and Greek dishes. DAY 4, WED – ATHENS / DELPHI / KALAMBAKA: After breakfast depart on your 4-day tour of Classical Greece and Meteora. Our first stop is Delphi. Visits include the Doric Temple and the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Treasuries, the 5th-century bronzed Charioteer and the intriguing Archaeological Museum filled with ancient artifacts. Early afternoon we continue north passing the towns of Lamia, Karditsa, Trikala and into Kalambaka. Dinner and overnight.   (B, D)   Hotel Divani Kalambaka 4*

DAY 5, THURS - KALAMBAKA / METEORA / KAMENA VOURLA: After breakfast mid-morning we visit the breathtaking monasteries of Meteora atop 1200 ft. cliffs. You will visit two ageless monasteries containing priceless historical and religious treasures standing suspended between earth and sky. Next-THermopylae -site of the famous Greek -Persian battle that King Leonidas and 300 Spartans heroically held the Persians. Few minutes for photos, continue to Kamena Vourla, a seaside resort area. DAY 6, FRI – KAMENA VOURLA / Mycenae / NAUPLION: Today we drive south to to Argolis and Mycenae, land of Homer’s Golden Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dating back to the second century B.C., Mycenae was one of the major centers of Greek civilization and a military stronghold which dominated much of southern Greece. Visit the archaeological site, home to the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon. You will see the Cyclopean Walls, the Lion’s Gate, the Royal Tombs, including Agamemnon Clytemnestra's, and the Treasury of Atreus, a magnificent 14th-century B.C. structure. Continue to our hotel in Nauplion. Dinner and overnight in the town of Nauplion with Panoramic view of Palamidi and Bourtzi Castle. (B, D) Hotel Amalia Nauplion 4*

DAY 7, SAT - NAUPLION/ Epidaurus / Corinth / Port of Piraeus: This morning we continue to Epidaurus. The UNESCO’S world heritage listed monument is reputed to be the birthplace of Apollo's son Asklepios, the healer and was the most celebrated healing center of the classical world. Epidaurus is probably most famous for its theatre, one of the best preserved classical Greek buildings and still used today due to its amazing acoustics. Early afternoon we will continue to the port of Piraeus to board the ship for your 7-day Aegean Cruise. (B, D) Cat. IB inside cabin  Deck 5/9

DAY 8, SUN - KUSADASI / Rhodes: Turkey’s captivating seaside resort of Kusadasi is the gateway to ancient Ephesus, one of the complimentary highlights of your cruise. After visiting the ruins, you will have just enough time to explore the iconic Grand Bazaar and browse the treasure trove of colorful shops and stalls selling souvenirs, silks, leather goods, carpets and jewelry. Early evening return where dinner awaits you as you sail for Rhodes. (B, L, D)    

DAY 9, MON—RHODES: The stunning landscape of Greece’s largest Dodecanese Island, Rhodes, seamlessly incorporates dramatic ancient and historic sites with charming modern hillside villages. Here you will visit the majestic medieval fortification of the Acropolis at Lindos perched on the clifftop above the crystalline Aegean and explore the cobbled alleyways and narrow arteries in the Old Town where you will discover opulent architecture with Ottoman and Italian influence. DAY 10, TUE - CRETE: The beautiful town of Agios Nikolas embraces the picturesque lake where Athena and Artemis were rumored to have bathed and in more recent times where the Germans sunk their weapons when retreating from Crete in WWII The town is one that is typically found on the Greek island with neoclassical buildings, restaurants, bars and shops line the lakeside. Wander the streets and marina and soak up the sun in one of the many cafes. for Santorini. (B, L, D)   

DAY  11, WED - SANTORINI:  The romantic island of Santorini is the remnants of a devastating volcanic eruption in the 16th-Century BC. The picture-perfect scenery features clustered traditional whitewashed houses and blue-domed churches set against a beguiling brilliant blue backdrop. Here you will have the chance to experience the Mediterranean lifestyle of the idyllic oasis and relax in the island’s calm and tranquility. Full day in Santorini.  (B, L, D)

DAY 12, THURS - MYKONOS:  Early morning arrival for a full day in Mykonos basking in year-round sunshine, its rugged rocky landscape blends seamlessly with smooth sandy beaches. This island, one of the most cosmopolitan islands in Greece, has become the favorite destination of jetsetters from around the world. You will have a full day and night to enjoy the beaches and nightlife that Mykonos has to offer. You will be departing Mykonos at 2:00am on Friday. (B L, D)                    

DAY 13, FRI - MILOS: Early morning arrival in Milos. You’ll be spellbound by Milo’s contrasting volcanic landscape that’s full of refreshing surprises. Its coastline with shaped sculpted rocks, quaint white stone fishing villages captivate viewers for hours. DAY 14, SAT – PIRAEUS / ATHENS / USA: 7:00am arrival at Piraeus Port. After breakfast, you will transfer to Athens International Airport for your flight back home , bringing wonderful memories to share with your family and friends.  (B).
